The 2017 Paso Robles RedThis vintage was built on a mildly wet winter and early spring. The early rain turned out to be a blessing, given the warm and dry summer that followed. After the three years of heat, the more moderate conditions in 2017 made for an unhurried, steady ripening with layers of aroma and texture being built up along the way. In other words, a spectacular vintage with ripe, well-balanced wines.SOLD OUT

My Favorite Reviews:“This is damn near unbeatable. For flavor and complexity, we’re at pretty much at the top. To sum it up succinctly, I’m looking at mouth-watering blackberries and plums” - Tim“Smashable wine! Full-blown dinner fun, but there’s complexity for the exploring. The nose is classic forest and berry, with an aromatic incense vibe on top.” - Sando“Fruit clarity, vibrance, poise and precision make for a quaffable delight. Think ripe red and blackberries, with lots of garrigue aromas and a streak of dark licorice underneath.” - Chris
The By-Product of True Appreciation.

FROM THE WINEMAKER
“The palate is immaculately detailed, long and silky with flavors of blackberries, red cherries, red plums, dark cherries and dark chocolate. The full body is delivered with steady elegance and power, showing unwavering build and a seemingly never-ending trail of fresh and spicy fruit flavors. Most immaculate tannins. The real soul of this wine shines through in this perfectly simpatico vintage. Fascinating to drink now.”

ABOUT US
All the way from the green pastures of the midwest, the Stange family built this legendary wine brand brick by brick. With a midwestern work ethic, the Stange family turned a weekend hobby into a full-blown, highly recognized California producer. Some years later, our winemaker has become one of the valley’s most recognized makers of exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon. This venture took inspiration from the great wines of Oakville, Rutherford, Stags Leap District and Paso Robles. Our winemaker has not only been instrumental in elevating Inoculum, but the evolution of craft winemaking itself. Fittingly, Chad has been awarded the coveted Winey of The Year award in 2003, another accolade in a long line of awards from critical publications like Wine Spectator & Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.
